The Chief Justice, Mr. Justice
Street, described Poster's way
if life as 'disgraceful and dis
eputable.'
There was abundant evi
lence. he said, that Foster asso
liated with criminals, who were
lis friends and social com
-anions.
The Bar Association had
tailed on Foster to show cause
i'hy he should not be disbarred.
The Chief Justice said that
Foster had been nine times
looked for consorting with con
victed criminals between July,
1945, and December, 1948. In
March, 1945, Foster was charged
with having been found in a
house frequented by reputed
thieves, but had been discharged
under a discretionary clause of
the Crimes Act
The court, he said, had not ac
cepted Foster's explanation that
his associates were his clients
and that on many occasions he
was interviewing them.
Foster had also appeared for
accused persons without being
properly instructed and briefed
by a solicitor. Mr. Justice Street
added.
Foster was ordered to pay the
cosis of the Bar Association's
application.
