Electricity
Expansion In
South-West
MANJIMUP, Monday.
Within a few weeks Man
jimup, under the South
West power scheme, will get
an alternating supply from
Bridgetown, which has al
ready been converted for
complete reception with the
erection of 400 new poles.
At Pemberton (40 miles
south on the extreme peri
meter of the delivery area)
wiring has been done and
about 300 new poles erected
or replaced.
In Manjimup, about 100
new poles have been put in
place. High-tension lines will
ultimately supply Deanmill
(4½ miles away) and the
pumping station with electric
current.
The plan for adequate light
ing of Manjimup's main street
depends on copper wire sup
plies.
