Guard Of Honor For

A guard of honor will
meet A. L. .(.'Possum')
Kipling #30 miles outside
LeiEh Creek and a convov
M about 60 cars will escort

trial next week.
Mr. W. D. Monkhouse. of
Lejgh Creek, said last night
that everyone there was
thrilled by Kipling's per
formance in the trial.
Kipling owns a carrying
business in Leigh Creek.
While he is away his two
trucks are being manned by
volunteers who agreed to
beep his business going while
he took part in the trial.
'He's the kind of man
who'll do anything for.any
ane else— so we feel' that any
thing local people can do for
tam is well deserved,' said
Mr. Monkhouse.
'When he arrives there
will be a big celebration in
the RSL hall.'
Mr. G. M. Knuckey. a
fnend of Kipling, said it was
Kipling's first attempt in a
trial, but his daily driving
over local roads had given
liim experience that served
bim well in the trial.
Although no definite ar
rangements have yet been
made at Quorn, John
Hughes, Kipling's companion
in the trial, is assured on his
return of a rousing welcome
by townspeople who are
proud of his performance.
He is engaged as a motor
mechanic in the firm of B
J Hughes & Sons.
