MICHAEL O'DWYER
Alleged Confession By
Indian
LONDON, April 1.
iCaxton Wall on March 21, was resumed,
!a detective-sergeant said that Singh, in,
a statement, said:—
"I did it because I had a grudge;
against him. He deserved it. I don't!
belong to any society, and don't mind,
dying. What's the use of waiting until
you are old? lam dying for my
country."
He then asked. "Is Lord Zetland
(Secretary of State for India) dead?
He ought to be." Later he asked if
there were only one dead, as he had
thought he could get more, and he
must have been too slow.
The hearing was adjourned.
