Fire Truck Hits
Pole
CLARE. Feb. 1.
Four men sustained minor
injuries this afternoon when
en EPS truck crashed into
an electric lieht nole while
traveuingto a grass nre near
Housing Trust homes in Es
dngton avenue.
The driver, Mr. D. Beanies,
sustained abrasions to the
chest, Messrs. B. Edwards
and D. Tillbrook slight con
cussion and P. Newman a
nose Injury.
The truck struck a large
pothole and got out of con
trol in a sideslip.
The fire was put out by
local residents.
that the erection of a ser
vice station there will spoil
a residential area, take away
the pleasing aspect of the
terrace, depreciate the value
of property in the vicinity
and seriously interfere with
the free flow of traffic along
Napier terrace, the only
main road from the hills to
the sea.
Surely, some steps should
be taken to prevent one ofj
