Little Inquiry for Gold Scrip.
ADELAIDE, June 3.-Commonwealth
loans were more active than for some
time and turnover covered £15,000 worth
on the Stock Exchange today. Other in
vestments and industrials were quiet, the
exchange of 950 Lion Brewing at an
advance of 5d. being the biggest deal,
but the market was nominally firmer.
Base metal stocks were slow, with souths
up 2d. Gold shares were dull around
recent rates.

Consols Again in Favour.
MELBOURNE, June 3.-Trading in
creased in a steady market on the Stock
Exchange today. Buyers operated con
fidently in a, slightly firmer industrial
section, where rises in 10 issues compared
with falls in nine: Firm buying support
for government securities was responsible
for rises in five issues with no falls. Total
callroom turnover amounted to £23,950.
The goldmining market was slightly
firmer, but trading was light. The base
metal mining section was inactive. The
market in oil shares was lifeless.

Better Undertone in Investments.
SYDNEY, June 3.-Though compara
tively few changes occurred in prices of
shares on the Stock Exchange today, a
firmer undertone was discerned, more
particularly in the afternoon. Investment
business in the callroom, except in Com
monwealth bonds, was of very small
dimensions. Base-metal shares received
slightly better attention and prices were
firm.
