FIRE AT OBSERVATORY
The Central fire brigade wras
called to a fire in the roof of the
Perth Observatory at 9.16 a.m. yes
terday. In charge of District-Officer
Ferguson. two engines were rushed
to the scene, but on arrival it was
found that a garden hose was all
that was required to quench the
flames.
It is thought that a spark from a
nearby chimney caused the out
break. Apart from damage ,to the
shingles on the roof the building
was untouched.
