Barriers Strong
Other Price Movements
Mostly Favorable
The main feature on the Stock Ex- <*>
change of Adelaide yesterday was the
strength of the market for Barriers,
which were in much better demand.
Movements in loans and industrials
were favorable, but gold mining issues
moved irregularly.
Loans were nominally firmer, and the 4
p.c., 1941. had moderate support. Pew sales
were noted in other Investments and indus
trials. For 500 Executor Trustee. 12/6 was
paid and 35 Elder, Smith brought £7 16/6.
Fifty S-A. Gas were booked at 23/. Adel.
Elect., 5 and 6^i p.c, prel, were taken at
26/1 and 31/6 respectively. Yellow Cabs
(S.A.). ord, had quittance at 6d. Clarkson,
ord and Dunlop ord brought recent rates.
Harris, Scarfe, ord., finned Hid. No business
was done in the other stocks, but the mar
ket maintained its upward trend.
A more active market ruled for base-metal
stocks. Elect. Zinc, rights, changed bands
at 29/8 for London delivery, and 50 New
BJL Consold. were placed at 11/8. Norths
were dealt with up to 41/4',i and Souths to
26/4. but they reacted to 40/10'A and 26/1
respectively before the close. A line of 500
Sulphide, pref, had exchange at 17/4. Mt.
Lyell heM at 27/2.
Little, interest was shown in gold issues.
Blue Bird and Boulder Perseverance eased.
Buibldge gained Id. in quotation. On the
transfer ot 750 shares. North Kalgurli shed
2d. OJ3JL had attention at 2/6. and Spargo's
Reward at 1/1 "A. Swan Bitter eased to 3/10.
Forward business was done in Snowy River
at 6/9.
