ABERDARE EXENDED MINE
Inter-Union Dispute.
SYDNEY, Nov 23.-The state
council of the Federated Engine
drivers and Firemen's Association
today declared black the Aberdare
Extended Mine on the northern coal
fields, where the miners are doing
the work of ten engine-drives fol
lowing an inter-union dispute. The'
council instructed its members em
played on the South Maitland r'al
ways not to send any waggons to or
lift any coal from any colliery ?here
the miners are doing the work of
engine-drivem.
This affects the three large col
lieries of the Caledonlan Coal Com
pany-the Aberdare Extended (2.000;
tons of coal daily), the Aberdare
(1,500 tons) anli the Waratah (570
tons). As a result they will probably
be idle next week.
The Aberdare Extended colliery
was able to work yesterday because
the miners were doing the work of
the ngine-drivers. The black de-:
cisio?will however automatically
have the effect of withdrawing the
miners fom the job.
