Mr. J. C. Knipe was granted a country auc
tioneer's licence.
FULL JURISDICTION.
Bolzberger v. Whiting.— Claim for £60 fl?.,
wages, for goodB Bupphea in the way Of trade, and
for rent. Mr. V. i\ Smith for the plaintiff ; Mr.
Bobert Mellor for the defendant. The defendant
pleaded payment, and £61 0s. 3d. as a set-off. This
was a case of complicated accounts. The plaintiff
was engaged by the defendant, according to 'his
evidence, to manage a butchering business for him
at £4 per week. The defendant denied the engage
ment as to salary, but stated that he had entered
into an agreement with the plaintiff to carry on the
business, and he was to-be paid out of the profits.
Instead of making a profit a- heavy loss had been
sustained. Yerdict for the defendant for £2 16a. 2d.
YOUKG AND ANOTHER V. MCCARTHY. — Claim for
£42 8s., goods sold and delivered. Mr. Wigley for
the plaintiffs ; Mr. Smith for the defendant. An
agreement wus arrived at by the parties by which a
verdict for the plaintiffs for £41 17s. 6d. was entered.
Richardson v. Gill. — Claim for £95 9s. 8d.,
amount of two dishonoured acceptances. Mr.
Wigley for the plaintiff. Defendant did not appear.
The case was taken ex parte, and a verdict was
given for the plaintiff for the amount claimed.
Griffiths v. Prior.— Claim for £84 93. 2d.,
balance of contract. Mr. Smith for plaintiff ; Mr.
Mellor for defendant. Adjourned to January 3.
Griifiths y. Dayey.— Claim for £&, board and
residence account Mr. Smith for the plaintiff ;
Mr. Wigley for the defendant. Verdict for the
plaintiff for £1 8s. 6d.
