Quarter Century's Service.
KATANNING, June 8.-To mark the
fine record of service by Miss A.
Oborne, who has been a teacher of the
Katanning State school for 25 years con

took place last Thursday at the Katanning
Town Hall.
Miss Oborne started her career at the
school in 1913 and in recent years has re

the pupils she taught in the first few
years of her service here. The evening
took the form of a dance, interspersed
with orchestral and vocal items, followed
by presentations. During the evening
about 50 letters and telegrams of congra

Miss Oborne was presented by her old
scholars and friends with an illuminated
address, a gold wristlet watch and a
handbag. The only other teacher to
achieve a similar record in the district
was Miss M. Roberts, who was accorded
an evening and presentation in 1936 to
mark her 25 years of service as a teacher
