Colonial Secretary's Office, Jan. 19.1837.
His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor in-
tending to visit the town of Launceston, and to
make a tour of the Colony as speedily as possi-
ble, has directed it to be notified, that he will
arrive at the undermentioned places on the fol-
lowing days, viz.
At Spring hill on Monday the 30th instant.
At Ross on Tuesday the 31st instant.
At Launceston on Wednesday the 1st of
February.
At George Town on Monday the 6th of
February.
At Norfolk Plains on Saturday the 11th of
February.
At Bothwell on Wednesday the 15th of
February.
At Hamilton on Thursday the 16th of Feb.
At New Norfolk on Friday the 17th of Feb.

road, nnd John street, overlooking the town,
the harbour, and the river Derwent. To say
nothing of the peculiar and varied beauties of
the situation, enlivened as it is by unceasing

town for men of business, and gentlemen in
public offices, who arc desirous of having their
domestic establishment a little removed from
the seat of bustle, renders such spots invaluable,
and it is necessary to add, from the unprece-
dented rise in the value of land, it is very

comparison with the above.

was thereupon appointed the provisional as-

New General Map

Van Diemen's Land.
PPEPARING for publication, and will
appear on the 1st March, a General Map
of Van Diemen's Land compiled from actual
surveys, including the latest discoveries, shewing
the divisions of Counties, Parishes, and Town-
ships, as lately established by letters patent ; the
principal roads, places of residence and other
useful information-by George Frankland,
Surveyor General.
%* As a limited number of impressions will
be struck off, it is requested that parties desirous
of obtaining copies, will make early application
to the publisher, stating what number of copies
they will require. The price of the Map will
be 20 shillings.
Also,
Will shortly be published by the same, separate
Maps of the Counties on a large scale, shewing
every grant of land, with its boundaries, as fixed
by actual survey, the public reserves, and the dis-
posable Crown lands ; the principal roads, as
well as the authorised bye roads in each parish.
These County Maps will be published in suc-
cession by numbers, and each will be accom-
panied by a general description of the districts it
comprises.

Van Diemen's Land, Plumber
and Glazier.
WHERBAS, the above named William
Capon did present his petition to
the Supreme Court, praying for relief pur-
suant to the act intituled " An act to provide
for the distribution of Insolvent estate*, and
for the amendment in other respects of the law
of debtor and creditor" and the same having
come on to be heard before William-Gardner
Sams, Esq., a Commissioner of the said
Supreme Court the said William Capon
was by His Honor Mr. Justice Montagu/
declared insolvent, and Mr. Wni. CoeeiuO
of Launceston, aforesaid, waa thereupon, ap-
pointed the provisional assignee of the estate
and effi cts of the said insolvent.
Notice ii hereby given, tlîàt His Honor
Mr. Justice Montagu has appointed Wed-
nesday the 15th day of Feb. next, at the,hour
of 10 o'clock in the forenoon, at the* Court-
house, Launceston, tu be tuesday and !pl»c»
