BASEBALL.
A Player Injured.
Rain interfered with the baseball prac
tice games held yesterday. Several were
abandoned, while others were stopped
after a few innings had been played. Ed
ward Charles Ralse had the misfortune
to dislocate an ankle while playing for
the "Daily News" team against Chevs
on the Esplanade east yesterday morning.
Halse was on third base and tried to
reach home on a passed ball; the baln
was thrown to Dickenson, who covered
the plate. In trying to beat the throw
Ralse jumped and landed sideways on
the plate, .badly injuring his ankle. He
was removed to the Perth Hospital in
a St. John ambulance and detained for
treatment.
Results.
Chevs v. "Daily Newa."-This game was called
off at the end of the second innings owing to
rain, when Obeys were leading by eight runs
sto four.
Hurlingham v. Perth Fire Brigade.-Perth Fire
Brigade defeated Hurlingham in a five Innings
ame by 21 runs to 19. The game was a log
ing feast from the start and no fewer than
nine home runs were soored. Home runs:
Hurlingham: Nicholas (2), Bryan, Donnie and
Coeon. Perth Fire Brigade: Williams, Hughe,
Finn and Korbosry.

Burleyw v. Midland.--This game was called off
by the umpire, Hopkins, at the end of the
fourth innings owing to rain, when the scores

The game between Ammas and Tigers was
abandoned owing to rain.
