' TOLGA NEWS.,
* January 4.
Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Plant and fam-
ily left Tolga on Tuesday for Than-
gool in' the Burnett district where Mr.
Plant will go on the land.
Mr. J. Cronin, the assistant station
master at Townsville, is in Tolga on a
visit to bis father. Mr. P. Cronin is
not in gt>od health. Mr. Cronin, junr",.
is accompanied by his wife and family.
x BRIDGE.
Twenty enthusiastic members of
the bridge club visited the Tolga Mem-
orial Hall on "-Thursday night to play
progressive bridge.- It^was easily the
most successful party since the club
has been formed. " Mrs. J. McDonald
with a score of 1-154 won the lady's
prize, a pair of silk .stockings. * Mr. J.
McDonald with a scoTe of 1700 won
the gent's prize, an eh'-ctric torch. A
nice supper was provide«.! and the play
wa? kept up until midi'ught. > It is
probable that the-Tolga --Club ¿» will
challenge the Atherton C"Uib in the
