Letter from Private J. H. Kenny.
Mr. Jim Kenny, of Irvinebank, who
is visiting Cairns, has received a let-
ter from his son, Private J. H. Ken-
ny, written at Fovant, and dated Janu-
ary: 10th, in which he says: "One
thing about this game, it either makes
you fit, or knocks you about a bit. For
my part I am Ai and in hard nick.
You can quite understand that a chap
would have to be when he is drilling
I while it is snowing. I am now what
you call fully trained and can be sent
to France at any time. I think they
expect to have a lot of open warfare
in the near future as they are giving
us the training for it. In any case I
expect to be at it in France early in
February. As far as England is con-
cerned I can tell you that it is a very
cold place. There is plenty of ice,
snow, and frost about. I cannot say
that I have got extra fat here, but I
have got hard and filled out a little.
Jack Wedderick is still here. I will
I write again next week."
