GERMAN RUSHES.
To Recover the Hindenburg Line.
LONDON, Dec. 14.
Gen. D. Haig's accounts of yester-
day's fighting show that the enemy,
after heavy preparations, attacked
from the north our positions in the
Hindenburg line eastward of Bulle-
court, also on a wider front from the
eastward and northeast against the
angle of our trench-line southward
of Ricncourt le Zaoncourt. Wc re-
pulsed both with heavy enemy losses.
A subsequent attack on the latter
front penetrated some obliterated
trenches elsewhere. Local fighting
went on all day long for a small por-
tion of trench in which the enemy had
a foothold without change of situa-
tion. Wc repulsed raiders south-
westward of Labasse and inflicted
casualties as the result of patrol en-
counters eastward of Zonnebckc.
