The Adelaide competitions were
continued yesterday in Victoria and
Way Halls. Dorothy Lane was awarded
highest points for
the piano solo test
over 21.
The bass or
baritone art song
provided some of
the finest singing
of the series, and,
in awarding Alan
Coad first place,
the adjudicator
said he had a
voice of excellent
quality. The
men's vocal cham
pionship, with 15
entrants, went to
Alan Coad with 92
points. Sydney
Morrell being se
cond.
Lan Co'.e was
first in the recita
tion test. 10 and under 12, by Mr. Drill.
Betty Farrant was also successful in
the test, under 8, and Geraldine Young
scored 87 points and first place for her
work in the humorous recitation with
musical accompaniment.
This afternoon Mr. V. V. Larimer
will be at Victoria Hall to take the
piano solo test, 10 and under 12. At
night he will judge the piano solo, open,
and the piano duet, open, own choice.
Mr. E. A. Drill wLI be at Way Hall
this morning for the humorous recital,
12 and under 14. In the afternoon the
.sections taken will be Scripture recital,
8 and under 10; recitation with musical
accompaniment. 12 and under 16. At
night the men or women's test will be
taken. Women will present "The Tam
ing of the Shrew" (Katherine in the
final act), and the men "King Henry
V.." act 4, scene 3.
