SUPPLY OF1 BALLAST FOR THE MIDDLE
TON AND STRATH ALBYN RAILWAY.
TENDERS will lie received at this Office up to 12
o'clock noon on Monday, the 11th November, for
the supply and delivery of al«-ut 37,100 Cubic
Yards of BALLAST, commencing at 3 miles 40
chains from the Middletou Junction, and ending
at 18 miles 18 chains near Strathalbyn. The
Ballast is to be composed of limestone, or other
stone of equal quality, broken so as to pass through
a three-iuch gauge; or it may be composed of good
sound clean crave!, screened free from dirt or any
admixture of rubbish, the gravel to be capable of
passing through a two and a half inch ring. The
quantity required per mile will be 2,51)0 yards, and
no tender will be received for less than that
amount. Tenderers must stata on what mile or
miles they propose to deliver. No Tender will be
received for the deposit of more than 2,500 cubic
yards on any one mile. Specifications can be seen
at this Office, or at the Resident Eugineer's Office,
Stratnalbyn.
Tenders to be endorsed 'Tender for Ballast
Middleton and Strathalbyn Railway.'
The Contractor must deliver the whole amount
named in his Tender on or before the 1st March,
1S6VS. Sureties to be provided for the due execution
of the contract.
