PICTURE OF HITLER AT
MOTOR SHOW
Unconscious Irony In
German Newspaper
BERLIN, March 5
The length of the postponement of
the Anglo-German conversations is not
indicated. Evening newspapers pub-<*>
lish a photograph of Hitler, hatless and
wearing a light overcoat, cheerfully
chatting with an official at the motor
show yesterday. The "Nachtausgabe."
with unconscious irony, prints the pic
ture with a laconic announcement of
Hitler's indisposition.
Leading articles regarding the White
Paper, which is resented throughout
Germany, amount to a storm of pro
test against Britain, whose action Is
generally described as unfriendly.
The "Angriff" describes it as an ai>
tempt to intimidate Germany on the
eve of negotiations by attributing Bri
tain's re-armament to Germany's
spirit. It adds:—"lt is a piece of
antiquated diplomacy which has failed
to achieve its purpose."
