TRACK GALLOPS.
GOOD TIMES RECORDED.
Many Fancied Horses at Work.
Over 20 of the probable runners at
Belmont Park on Saturday, as well as a
good number of W.A.T.C. carnival can
didates exercised on the big grass track
of the Perth course yesterday morning
when, with the flags out 30 feet from
the rails, more than fair times were re
corded.
Barflno (Read), in company, was the
best sprinter of the morning, finishing
the half-mile in 50isec. Other Karrakatta
Plate youngsters seen out were Oceanus
(Forth) with Agricrest (Peck), who kept
together over six furlongs covered in
1.24; Premiere (Humphreys), who gal
loped five furlongs in 1.7£ without any
urging; Casey (Brady) who went four
furlongs in even time, and Pandemonium,
who was accompanied in some useful
pace work by Adeline's March, the Perth
Cup acceptor.
About 20 of the Railway Stakes can
didates galloped. Jolly Fair (Butler) who
was accompanied by Virgin Wing (Leon
ard) registering a well-run six furlongs
in 1.174 after stretching out over the
half-mile in 531sec. Dragonet (Whit
bread), who is also a Perth Cup acceptor,
with Staghorn (Peck) did a handy seven
furlongs, taking 1.34. Keeping neck-and
neck they covered the first three fur
longs in 38sec, the half-mile in 51sec,
and six furlongs in 1.174. Desert Here
(Read) had Tom's Toy (Ryan) as a run
ning mate over a mile, done comfortably
in even time; six furlongs took 1.20.
Samaden (Tulloch), who is also in the
Cup, covered six furlongs in 1.224. Hero
San (England) went a mile in even time,
looking fresh at the end of it. Balkan
Prince (Morley), who is not engaged on
Saturday, with Micro Wave (Kllis) did a
mile in 1.50, Balkan Prince going on for
another furlong up the hill and taking
2.7 for the whole journey. Kilrush
(O'Brien) galloped a mile and- a quarter
in even time, the last seven furlongs oc
cupying 1.38. Yaringa (Ellis) went with
Whirlette (McMahon) over a mile, keep
ing a head most of the way to finish in
1.50. Thiasrooma, with Treat's Folly
(Woods) moved easily over six furlongs,
covered in 1.25.. Beggar Queen (A. Gil
bert) covered five furlongs in 1.8, and
Heroic Duke (Peck) had a useful gallop.
Golden Image (McLachlan), running
with Mantology (Dodd), recorded 1.20
for a spin of six furlongs.
The Cup favourite, Cueesun (Dodd).
again hi company with the hurdler Glas
gow (Nelson) did the round without ef
fort in 2.22. Sectional times were 28sec.
for two furlongs, 57sec. for half a mile,
1.114 for five furlongs, 1.254 for six fur
longs, 1.39 for seven furlongs, and 2.7
for nine furlongs. Sipal (Corry) went a
mile and a half. He covered the first
three furlongs in even time when he was
joined by Stealth (McLachlan). The pair
went together over their first two fur
longs in 28Jsec., the half mile in 55sec,
six furlongs in 1.204 and seven furlongs
in 1.34, Sipal having a little the better
of the run at the end.
PIcaro (Dodd) figured hi a good gallop
over a mile and a quarter, finishing in
2.154. His first two furlongs took274sec.;
three went by hi 40sec, four in 52sec,
five in 1.5. seven hi 1.314, and a mile hi
1.47J.
Headfern (Ardagh), who may run on
Saturday galloped impressively over four
furlongs, leading from Amalia (Butler)
and Treat's Pride (Leonard) to finish in
514sec. Charming Singer (Ellis), another
likely runner, covered five furlongs hi
1.6. Agrlflora (Ryding) went seven fur
longs in even tune, and Alluring Lady
(Reid) was kept to half-speed over six
furlongs. Poikilos (Butler) sprinted half
a mile hi 56sec, while Band Contest
(Woods) and Silveral (Stephens), to
gether, toow two seconds less for a simi
lar distance. Keenedge (Chandler) also
went four furlongs, registering 574sec.,
while Flakoala (Callinan), hi company,
dashed over a like journey hi 53sec.
Fast Sea (Nelson) cast three furlongs
behind hi 39sec. Dal Cais (Charles) was
taken over five furlongs in even time.
Easymount (Tulloh) went about six fur
longs at half pace. Great Echo (Gilbert)
also did pace work, and Tongnahuric
(Brady) shot over three furlongs hi 41
sec. Serbian Gold (Read) with Deep Sea
(Watson) covered six furlongs in 1.19,
Serbian Gold being ahead at the finish.
Rosebura (King) went a mile and a
quarter hi even tune, moving nicely, and
Valauvent. (George) completed the round
in 2.27, covering seven furlongs hi 1.40
and a mile in 1.56. Regarra (Harrison)
and Yodelate (Peck) were kept to threes
quarter pace work, over six and seven
furlongs respectively, while Gunga Das
(Whitbread). with Venetian King, did six
furlongs hi 1.19. Amocata cantered once
round the course. Carioca (Callinan)
covered five furlongs hi 1.6.
Insolent (England) and Hazelwood
(King) dashed over half a mile hi 51
sec. Wat Arun (Taylor) and As
trasign (Corry) kept together over
half a mile, completed hi even tune, and
Saltate (Tingley) and Chrysophris
(Dodd), also together, went six furlongs
hi 1.20. Royal Serenader (O'Brien) did
a lifcj distance in 1.22. Astute (Corry)
covered five furlongs hi 1.11 and Noogee
(Ryan) finished six furlongs in 1.19.
Earl Cunje (Whitbread) and Darius
(Peck) took 1.39 for seven furlongs, com
pleting six furlongs hi 1.22. Maybe (Wat
son), Lenarran (L. Armanasco) and
Wood Arab (Charles) all did even time
gallops and Minga (McMahon) was ex
ercised at three-quarter pace.
Nokomls (Saligari), Erginkey (A. Gil
bert), Dutch Plane (Saligiri( and St.
Daius (Darcy) all jumped four hurdles
in clean style.
