NATIONALISM.
Plea by Mr. Bruce.
Melbourne. May 13.
A plea for the revival of the spirit
hat carried Australia successf uSLy through
the war in order to face successfully the
rrmnv nost-war nroblems was made by
the Prime Minister in an address this
afternoon to the East Malvern branch
of ihe Australian Women's National
League. The National Party, he said,
had come into existence during the war.
It was not appreciated to-day, but his
torians would see in a true perspective
the part it hadi played, and give it the
praise it deserved. The whole inspira
tion of the war effort of Australia was
the great ideal set before it by the
Nationalist Party. The party had now
reached the second, and Qerhaps the
hardest, stage of its existence — to stir
public thought and place before Austra
lia the path of duty.
