state, fresh from thc potter's wheel, was
signed by tho bride, who wrote her
married name tor the first time. Her
signature wa» followed by those of the
bridegroom, thc best man, and the
bridesmaid, and others. The vase was
taken to Messrs. Doulton's works, whero
It was fired and tho signatures rendered
permanent.
