Public meeting of the Evangelical Union.
THE EVANGELICAL UNION, formed by
Jo. various denominations of Christians in February,
1844, with a view to promote that unity
of spirit and action which ought to characterise
Christians, is desirous of seeing religious instruc-
tion extended in this community by means of
tract distribution, and to further this object, a
public meeting will be held on Monday next, the
19th instant, at Brisbane-street Independent
Chapel. A
Monthly Meeting for United Prayer is held
on the second Monday of every month, at the
various places of worship in succession, after which
a Committee meets for consultation relative to the
objects of the Union, to which all Christians of
every denomination are invited.

" the relief of the unfortunate sufferers at New
Zealand, have come to the determination to reserve
the money subscribed for persons who most
likely may emigrate from New Zealand to this

their attention to the above " auspicious event,"
on which day many pass-holders, now in private
service, will no doubt receive a higher indulgence,
which will be the cause of cancelling any contract
entered into for their services with the Comptroller-General
and begs to state she shall be
happy to execute any commands to procure servants,
either from H.M.S. " Anson," or from any
of the Hiring Depots, when the strictest attention
will be given to select those most suited for the
services required.

the large number of Free Servants on her Register,
suitable for all the purposes of domestic
