THIS "UNATTENDED SIDING"
WJien the representative of a Syd
ney firm went to the Sydney Railway
station to forward a parcel, freight
prepaid, to a resident of Boonah, lie
was informed that this could not be
done.. as Boonah was an "unattended
siding.". Kalbnr was said to be the
. nearest town!
The ancient English castles
Are haunted we all know;
By ghosts of lords and ladies -
. And knights of long ago.
' But .nl n place called Boonah
So Sydneysiders say,
There's an "unattended siding"
Where ghosts walk night and day.
You hear a sound of tooting,
And, if you have the nerve,
You'll see .a ghost train rounding
The Butter Factory curve, v
It glides up to the platform,
And plain for all to. view,
Within the lighted brake-van stands .
A ghost named Paddy Drew.
A station master stands there,
A ghost in helmet white,
Who stops this phantom motorHrain
By waving a red light.
Then,' a ghost called Frank Sfiwatzki,
Who drives a phantom car,
Ticks up the phantom passengers
And drives them near and far.
This unattended siding
Most curiouB to relate,
Is filled by phantom porters,
With piles of phantom freight.
And visitors from Sydney
Each night this siglit. may view,
Then down at Jack McDonald's drink
A toast with ghoBt-giiard Drew.
