GENERAL ELECTION.
Rumours in Dublin.
GOVERNMENT EMBARRASSED.
DUBLIN, Wednesday.— There are
repeated rumours of a general election.
The United Ireland Party's superior
manoeuvring and the General O Duffy
case have embarrassed the Govern
ment. There was leading outspoken
comment at the Cabinet meeting that
the Government's opponents are losing
no chance of taking advantage of the
situation.
The Gilbertian position is heightened
by the continued imprisonment of
Dennigan, despite the Institute of
Journalists' complaint, also general
protests.
