STRY-OHNINE POISONING.
A magisterial inquiry was held yesterday,
before Mr. H. D.'Neileon, J,P., into the
eireumataneea attending the death of
Normau Brier, who waa found dead in
hw hod at the Wuverley Hoarding House,
Aim-street; on the morning of August
13. Senior Sergeant Ferguson conducted
the inquiry. Evidence was given by Mrs.
A. Hughes Constable Petcre, G. T, Brier,
J. S. Cock. 11, Hughes, V, J. It. Turner,
and Constable Cordwell, The evidence
was to the effect tOmt on August 12 de
ee.'i&ed, with his brother, and Oook, visited
the Exhibition, and seemed to enjoy liim-,
self. That evening they went to the
theatre, and -deceased went home about
11 o'clock. He was InH seen, olive about
1J.15 o’clock sitting on the steps. He was
not known to have _ any trouble or any
reason for taking his life. He was at
times despondent nnd had been heard, to
say life was not .worth living. A post
mortem examination was made by Dr.
Dods, and the stomach, with- certain or.

Dods certified the cause of death to ba
“poisoning by strychnine.” Upon tlio
body was found a small memorandum book
in winch* the following memos, appeared
in the handwriting of deceased : T* There
