quests to tho Main Roads Commission

important road. Tho section referred
to is a boundary road between tho
Crow's Nest and Rosalie Shires, and re
cently tho two councils tedded to un
dertake the work as a Joint main roads
maintonanco scheme. About 00 chains
of tho section woro treated in tho cur
rent financial year, on ft, half-cost basis,
and tho Crow's Nest Shti'a Council is
now negotiating with the Rosalie Coun-
oli with a view to having the remaining
BO or 60 chains completed on tho same
basis of oost in the next financial year.
Tho Crow's Neat Shire Council's gra
der. which wos tnktn over for defence
work by tho Main Roads Commission
last year, was returned to the shire for
a short period recently, and much use
ful work was dono on the local roads
during its brief stay. Unfortunately for
the Main Roads Commission it was
found, when a telephone call was put
through from Brisbnno advising the
shire clerk that the grader was again
needed, that the Allied Works Council
had taken over tho machine two days
previously.
