Drowned in a Quarry.
A sad caso of drowning occurred yesterday
afternoon in South Brisbane. It appears a
boy named James G. Harason, 5 years old, was
returning homo from school in company with
another youngster, along tbo Mcrton-road,
about half-past 3 o'clock in tho afternoon. The
littlo boys went over to a quarry, situated a
short distanco off tho road, and which has been
filled with water by tho recent rains. Whilo
tho lads were looking down into tho quarry
young Hamson slipped and foil into the water.
.His companion immediately gavo the alarm,
and Mr. M. Nancarrow, whowasclosoathand,
went to the rcscuo, but, unfortunately, beforo
ho could succeed in hauliog out tho poor little
chap lifo was extinct. Tho body was subse
quently examined by Dr. Kobblo, who certified
to death having resulted from drowning.
