O'Sullivan and North on the
War Path. . .

LAIDLEY. August 8.
Mr. P. O'Sullivan and Mr, North addressed
a meeting of tho Stanley electors hero to-night.
Tho meeting was not so largo as that held by
Mr. Kcllctt on Monday.
Mr. O Sullivan said be would not support
the local option principle. He objected to tho
introduction of Coolies, and ho was prepared
to put a £50 poll-tax on Chinese. He said I10
saw four kanakas trying to lift oho box of
candles in Maryborough.
Mr. North said ho believed tho princtplo of
land-grant railways was a good one, and in
order to keep our public works proing wo must
construct railways on that principle.
Tho meeting was a very orderly one, and a
vote of confidonco in both candidates was
carried unanimously.
