Tho Hon. L. E. Groom is in receipt
of tho followings communication from
tho Department of tho Postmaster*
General. Melbourne, dated 2Gtb March,
Sir,—Adverting to ray communication
of tho I4th December last, intimating
in connection with tho letter presented
by you from Mr. D. K. Shearer, Secre
tary of tho Cambooya Branch of the
Queensland Farmers’ Association, relat
to the desired establishment of a
Host Office at Cambooya away from the
.Railway Station, that approval had been i
•given, to a recommendation made by
tho Deputy PoBtmaater-General, Bris
bane, that a contract Post Office apart
from the Railway Station he establish
ed at the placo in question, and that
instructions had been issued aeording
ly, I beg to inform you the Deputy
Postmaster-General, Brisbane, now ad
vised aa follows in regard to the mat
Offora wero invited in the usual
way, and that of Mr. D. M. Tait has
been accepted. Mr.^ Tait is a retired
Railway official, and the premises
which he proposes to use ar© situated
on tho Railway Department’s land,
close to tho Railway Station, and are
to bo rented by him from that De
partment. Tho new office is to be
opened for business on tho 1st April,
