construction of the section of the
Northern Highway, between the
Boyne River and Gladstone, and
advised that the question of the
cons'ructicn of this section was
under discussion 'With the Arms.
If the work was requested b.v the
Armv it would be carried out,
otherwise there was little llkehood
of it being done for sbme time as
the Main Roads Commission had
neither the funds or labour avail
able for the work.—Received.
The Minister . for Transport
wrote in reference to the new
water supply scheme;.tied advised
the Railway Department was not
prepared to, pay. on annual f.e
against the estimated yearly lo

PIPE LINES

it would prolong the life. Aid.
Tudman moved that the Works
Committee be empowered to carry
out the work.- Seconded by the
Mayor, and carried.
Aid.; Golding brought forward
the ques.ion of grading tile road
from the Riverston turn-off to
Mt; Goplcgamma which he,con
tinued was necessary in connec
tion. with, tb® work of the Boyne
River water scheme. It was de
cided that the Mayor make an in
spection ar.d.report at next meet
ing.
Aid. Deveney said at the last
meeting of the Council. Aid. Gold
ing said that It would be necessary
to resume, portions of Mr. G.
Doble’s and Mr. N. Lee’s property
for the purnose of cutting a pipe
line through, and he tAld. Dev
eney) stated that these gentlemen
wpre prepared to give a portion of
their land to'.carry out the work.
Aid. Golding suggested that these
gentlemen' should submit their
offer in writing when the matter
could.be dealt with. Aid. Golding
moved that the Council write to
the Minister, for the Interior ask
ing that another road be constuct
cd in licit of. the road removed
from Auckland Hill. Seconded by
Aid. Tudman and carried.
