Navy s Hunt For
Enemy Sub.
CANBERRA. Wednesday.—Be
fore offering any comment con
cerning action taken' to locate
and destroy the submarine which
is believed to be the mother ship
of the enemy plane which flew
over Sydney on Friday night,
the Minister for the Navy (Mr.
Makin) is awaiting reports from
Sydney naval authorities.
Reports, he said to-day, would
be reviewed by the Naval Board
and himself. The Navy was
diligent in its search for enemy
submarines off the Australian
coast. It sought to effect the
greatest safeguard possible.
These efforts would be supple
mented by constant cover by
the R.A.A.F._
