WOOL SALES.
sydney. Nov. 21.
Wool sales were held on Monday at
the Sydney Wool Exchange, when the
quantity catalogued totalled 7.2335 bales.
and the sales, incInding private transac
tions. amounted to 6.879 bales.. Lines
suitable for Japanese orders were well
competed for, and the range of values
current last week was about main
tained. There was a good demand for
a?ll descriptions of skirtings. and for
these satisfactory prices were obtained,
but-for very burry fleece wools, especi
ally those in heavy condition or lackding
length and quality. ttere was only a poor
demand. In the crossbreds section all
but-the finer descriptions were irregular
and ditfcult of sale.
Melbourne. Nov. 21.
The wool sales were resumed in Mel
bourne to-day. One firm of brokers
offering a catalogue of about 6,000 bales,
which comprised another very fine selec
tion of Riverina wools, outstanding
points of which were general growth and
condition. The market was practically
unaltered, top prices being:-Woperana,
25dil.: Zara. 23d.; and Cobran. "22d.

Dalgety and Co. have received the fol
lowing cable from their London office
dated November 18:-At to-day's aue
tiops 1,900 packages offered, 211 sold.
Very small demand owing to high limits.
Sharks Bay shell: 50 packages offered
and practically all sold. Keen competi- I
tion. Bold £3 12s. Rd. per cwt.: bold
medium £2 Ps. to £2 15s.. medium £2 per
ewt.

New season's f.a.q. to prime wheaten chaff
Trulised £6 12s. 6d. and £6 15s. at the rail
way auction sales yesterday morning. when
a yarding of 25 tracks of grain and produce
was submitted. Seven lots of f.a.q. brought
65 Ss. to £6 10s.., one of average sample was
disposed of at £6, while another of a lower
grade found a buyer at £5 2s. 6d. A small
parcel of wheat, a truck of oats, and an
ether of straw-were sold at 7s. Bid., 3s.

T-welve fresh tracks and 20 carry-overs were
yarded at the metropolitan chaff and grain
auction sales held this morning. There were
no prime samples forward. F.a.q. sold at
£6 i0ls. to £6 15s.; average quality at £6
o. £6 10s.; medium grades at £5 I0s. to
£5 '17s. 6d.; and inferior lines at £5 to
f5 7s. 6d. Oats: One parcel was offered,
and sold under the hammer at 3%, 8d.
Wheat: One smail consignment of smutty
sold at auction at 5s.' per bushel. Baled
6traw: One track, which, although well
baled, was of inferior quality, sold at £7 15a.
per ton. Potatoes: A couple of small con
sigaments were offered, and one sold under
the-hammer at £6 per ton.

Sydney, Nov. 21.
About 19,900 sheep and 1,900 cattle,
including 295 from Queensland, were for
-ward at the Flemington sale yards on Mon.
daIy The sheep market was irregular at
times. but not quotably changed. Gener
ally the cattle market opened 10s. to 15s.
dearer for male beef, but subsequently eas
ed for cattle on the heavy side. There was
not much demand for cows and heifers, but
r?lues were slightly in sellers' favaour.
