BLACK-MARKETING
ACT HELD VALID
BY HIGH COURT

The Full High Court to-day Unan!,
mously decided that the Black
marketing 'Act regulations, fixing
ceiling prices for meat and other
commodities, were valid.
The court was also unanimous that
Mr. Justice Dixon had properly ad.
mitted evidence at the trial of James
Regos of East Malvern, and Arthur
Edward Morgan, on charges of
charges of blackmarketing.
Regos and Morgan were found
guilty of having failed to keep proper
books of account. The
decision will affect the legal
position of many wholesale butchers
throughout Australia and it also embraces
the sale of commodities with
prices fixed under the National Security
Regulations. " .
Morgan, Regos and John Alexander
Ferguson, of Essendon, factory
manager, will now be sentenced by
Mr. Justice Dixon on charges on
which they had, been found guilty.
