VICTORIAN VARM TRAGEDY.
A MYSTERIOUS SENSATION.,
Melbourne, May 19.
A telegram from Bannockburn states that
shortly before 7 o'clock on Tuesday morn
ing smoke was seen issuing thickly from
the residence of Mr. Thomas Morrison, a
farmer of the district. Neighbouis hur
ried over, and on grrival found the house
enveloped in flames. When the outbreak
was suppressed a search iwas made for
missing members of the family, and at the
head of the remains of a bed the charred
body was found of Mrs. Morrison (50), and
at the foot the charred remains of Daniel
McIntosh, her brother (471). In the same
room a gun was found. In the kitchen,
which was detached, and on the windwarl
side of the homestead, was found the dead
body of Alexander Morrison, the 12-year-old
son of the deceased woman, with a gun
shot wound in the side of the head. The
kitchen had escaped fire. No reason can
be assigned for the tragedy.
