Cowie-Davey
French lace and satin fashioned tin
gown worn by Miss Lena Davey foi
her- marriage with Mr. Patrick J.
Cowie, at St. John's Church, Launces-
ton. The Rev. W. Greenwood per-
formed" the ceremony, and Mr. A. R.
Gee was organist. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Davey,
of Little Hampton, and the bridegroom
the son of 'Ar. and Mrs. P. J. Cowie,
of Herrick. The bride's gown was made
on Princess lines, the bodice and long
sleeves in white French lace and satin
with a V shaped neck and a spray of
orange blossom, and the skirt falling
away in a long pointed train. A family
heirloom veil of silk embroidered tulle
was worn over a foundation of cut
tulle held in place by a halo of-orange
blossom. She carried a large, floral
horseshoe of pink and white camellias
made by a friend, Mrs. H. Reid. Given
away by her father, she was attended
by her sister, Miss Rita Davey, and
' Miss Joyce Badcock, the former wear-
ing pale pink fancy crepe and the lat-
ter green; both frocks were 'made
alike, with shirred bodice, draped puff
sleeves and fitting skirt, and each maid
wore a plait of silver, and colour
matching that ot her frock, in her hair.
They carried bouquets of white camel-
lias. Beverley Shipp, the cushion
bearer, was frocked in pink fancy crepe
and wore a band of pink and silver in
her hair; she carried u silver basket
of flowers. The bridegroom was at-
tended by his brothers, Messrs. W.
Cowie and J. Cowie, best man and
groomsman respectively. During the
signing of the register, the solo "Be-
cause" was sung by Mrs. Tidy. As the
bride left the church, floral horseshoes
were placed on her arm by her nephews
D. Merrington and L. Shipp. The
bride's mother wore an ensemble of

and a small hat of brown straw, with
brown accessories and carried a posy
of violets. The bridegroom's mother
was frocked in brown floral marocain
with which she wore a hip-length fur
coat and a brown straw hat; she car-
ried a posy of carnations. The recep-
tion was held at the Y.M.C.A. building,
where the tables were decorated* with
Spring bulbs und. mauve primulas in
crystal vases. The three-tier wedding
cake was made by the bride's mother
and decorated by Mrs. H. Shipp.
On leaving for the honeymoon which
will be spènt-in touring the West Coast,
the bride wore a tailored brown cos-
tume and smart brown straw hat with
matching furs. Mr. and Mrs. P. J.
Cowie will live at Fingal.
