ALLEGED PARRICIDE
TH) NEW SOUTH WALES CASE?
Sydney, April 17.
In the Goulburn Circuit Court to-day
Arthur H. MacDqnald was charged with
having caused the death of his father, at
Glenroy, near TlI a Tilha. The police
evidence was that the prisoner made
statements that his father came to his
house' drunk and threatened to kill his
mother. In a struggle with his father
a gun was accidentally discharged.
'4rs. MacDonald gaveo corroborative
account of the shooting, and said that
her husband and her son were on good
terms, hut. that the former was very
violent when under the influence of
drink.
Wnm. Brown said that he witnessed the
shooting. The prisoT~i told his father
to stand back. or he would shoot. After
MacDonald was shot, the prisoner asked
witness not to say anything about the
affair. In cross-examination, the wit
ness contradicted himself, and said that
he could neither tell the day nor the
month on which the tragedy occurred.
The jury returned a verdict of not
guilty, and Mr. Justice Pring said that
MacDonald left the court without a
stain on his character.
