OBITUARY
MRS. G. E. ARCHER.
Mrs. Linda Archer, wife of Mr. G. E.
Archer, of Landfall, East Tamar, a well-
known pastoralism died at her residence
early yesterday morning, after a lengthy
illness. She was the daughter of the
late Rev. Robert Philp, who was presi-
dent of the Methodist Conference of
Victoria and Tasmania in 1905, and was
at one time stationed in Launceston. Mr.
T. Philp, chief veterinary officer of the
Department of Agriculture, is a brother.
Mrs. Archer leaves a son and daughter.
The funeral, which will be private, will
take place at Carr Villa cemetery to-day.
MRS. JOHN HAY.
The funeral of the late Mrs. John Hay,
of Arbroath, Franklin, took place at the
Franklin Congregational Church ceme-
tery yesterday in the presence of a large
gathering of relatives and friends. The
deceased lady was the widow of the late
John Hay No. 2, and leaves a family of
four sons and one daughter. The body
of the deceased was carried from her
late residence to the cemetery by two
of her sons, Messrs. J. M. and H. G.
Hay, a grandson, Mr. Rex Hay, and son-
in-law, Mr. T. Weldon. The funeral ser-
vices were conducted at the house and
graveside by the Rev. Ronald Woods,
of Huonvllle-Franklin Congregational
Church. The funeral arrangements
were carried out by Mr. E. Mlllhouse.
