LAWN TENNIS.
WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ASSOCIA
TION.
A meeting of the Lawn Tennis Associa
tion was held at the Esplanade Hotel
last evening when there were present
Messrs Hardwick (in the chair), Bolton,
C. H. Stuart. Higginson, Kelsey, and
the secretary (Mr. Innes).
The secretary reported having receiv
ed letters from Mr. S. H. Parker and
Dr. Saw accepting the offices of patron
and vice-president respectively. The
secretary read a lettr from the Coolgar
die Tennis Club asking that a team, con
sisting of four or six players, should be
sent to the goldfields in August to play
matches against Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie,
and Combined Goldfields. It was re
solved that. pending the result of certain
inquiries which will have to be made, the
matter should stand over until next
meeting. It was decided that the co
lours of the association should be black
and white.
The pennant matches were to have be
gun on Saturday next, hut, owing. to
unforeseen circumstances, the date of
starting has been postponed.
