STATION MYSTERY
BRISBANE, Saturday.
The mysterious disappearance of a
well-known local resident, Ormonde
de Stokar, 33, while in charge of
Bunya Park Station, during the ab-
sence of its owner, has baffled the
police.
Although Mrs. Green, wife of the
owner, found no trace of de Stokar
when she returned to the homestead
on Thursday, it was not till the fol-
lowing day, when her husband re-
turned, that the police were informed.
It is revealed that a shotgun, the
property of Mr. Green, had dis-
appeared. Later in the day, Con-
stable Newman found a jacket along-
side a heap of ashes about 300 yards
from the house. The jacket was
identified as belonging to de Stokar.
What appear to be human bones
were also found, and these will be
the subject of expert examination.
A black tracker has been sent to
the scene from Toowoomba.
