White, young men, were jointly present-
ed for sentence, having in tho Police

having on June 9 broken into and stolen
goods to the value of £43 from the shop
of Mrs. T. J. Tegg at 151 Elizabeth

The Solicitor-General (Mr. L. 32.

Elizabeth Bradshaw, of 131 Elizabeth
Street, goods including mouth organs,
pencils, and hooks and stationery, valued
In all at £2. In neither case was any con-

recovered.
Mr. A. E. Richardson, who appeared
for the accused Flannagan, urged In
his favour that the books stolen on the
first occasion included a quantity of
Sexton Blake literature and rubbish of
the same nature, the reading of which
might well have led to the perpetration
of the second escapade, in which other
bovs, who had been dealt with in the
Children's Court, had participated. He
asked for the fullest degree of leniency
permissible.
Sentence of three months' imprison-
ment was passed on each of the accused.
