Ixion Championship

Many leading amateurs in this State
will try' conclusions over 20 miles :
along the Footscifay road tomorrow
afternoon. Tbe race is known as the;
Annual Ixion Championship, and a|
handsome blue ribbon has been do-!
nated by Mr Arthur Blair, of St. Kllda. I
; The riders will leave tho Rising Sun'
Hotel at 3.15 p.m., finishing at about
4.5 p.m. Among tho entrants are
such well-known performers as A. V,
Brown, T. Ling, M. Williams, J. Cook
(Albert Park). S. Ramsden, T. Van-
dersluys, S. IV. Ramsay, A. Simmons
(Carlton), .T. do Cure, W. Thomson,
H« Burton and S. Milgnte (Ea«t"Snb-
urban). Altogother 40 riders are ex
pected to face the' startor.
Track racing aspirants will bo
pleased to learn that tho Exhibition
track Is now opon for training, and
- amateurs will in all probability be
catered for by ft carnival to bo held
at the Exhibition on Boxing Ray,
comprising sprint . and handicap
