ADELAIDE CLUB.
This popular institution, which has had Hie honour of enter
taining all distinguished visitors to our shores, enjoys a well-
merited reputation throughout, the colonies. It is one of the
most prominent buildings on North-terrace, and situated
opposite Government House, near ihe corner of King William-
street. The land on which it is creeled cost I'd.OuQ. and the
edifice itself over £8.00(). whilst is furniture is valued
at upwards of £4,000. The club was established in 1SG3,
and now numbers 203 members, with prospects of steady
increase. Geo. Hamilton. Esq., .1.1'., one of the original
founders, occupies a prominent position on the Committee,
and is interested in its success.
