Dairy Cattle Research
The first Federal Council ot tne Aus
tralian Dairy Cattle Research Associa
tion formally took over the affairs of the
Association in Sydney last week. The
provisional chairman (Dr. Kinross) ex-
pressed appreciation of the way in
which various bodies had co-operated
with the Association since its inaugura-
tion a year ago. He specially men- j
tinned the Australian Dairy Council. '
Commonwealth Bank Board and Prim
ary Producers' Union.
the Minister for Agriculture (Mr
Main.' promised every support to the
Association from his department. No
more fitting expression, he said, could
have been made to perpetuate the mem
ory of the late Mr J. T. Cole, of Dar-
bslara estate, who first conceived the
idea of foiming a body to investigate
diseases of dairy cattle.
Dr. A. C. D. Rivett (Victorian dele
gate and member of the Council for
Scientific and Industrial Research! said
his council would give assistance on the
ttchnical side.
The following office-bearers were
elected: — President. Dr. R. M. Kinross
OI .S.W.i: vice-presidents. Colonel C. E.
Merrett (Vic.) and Mr C. E. D. Meares
(as chairmen of the Australian Dairy
Council); treasurer, Mr H. D. B. Cox
(N.S.W.); secretary. Mr G. C. Somerville
(N.S.W.).
