A CONVALESCENT CHILD.
Every mother has at some time to face
the difficult task of amusing a conva
lescent child. The sick child, lies help
lessly, but the convalescent (not well
enough to be allowed to be active) is
uiieu a trying nunuiui iui <x> uuubcuuiu.
A simple way of amusing a little girl
is to draw a picture of an animal on
light weight card-board. Unthread the
machine, put the picture under the
needle, and with a long sctitch go round
the outline. Give the child a large needle
threaded with colored cotton, and let her
work the animal, through the punctures
on the card- board.
A box of beads for making rings and
chains also forms a pleasant diversion.
