A Soldier's
Utter.
A "TRUTH" MAN'S VIEWS.
Under date April 20, writing from
Salisbury, England, Private Percy Davidson,
formerly of "Truth" mechanical
staff, writes to the editor of this
paper, enclosing some of the Hughes
"literature" and his opinion- thereon.
Says Percy, writing generally: "Just a
line to let you know I am still in the
land of the living, and in good health.
I don't know when I am due 'back at
France, hut think I will have a further
three weeks at least before returning.
I ha>ve had a very good holiday, seeing
the sights and scenes of London and
surroundings. I met. Paul here the
other day. He tells me he heard I had
been kiiled, and had written to you to
that effect. I am very much alive, and
if my luek sticks to" me ought to see
the "game' through. I am enclosing a
•copy . of a paper issued to us for the
purpose of influencing the votes of soldiers
at the election. I' don't suppose
it will be of any use for any practical
value, because the election will be over
long before it reaches you. We have
had several different copies of the ra?
lately, but I am sorry I could not send
j'ou the others. They were even more
one-sided than this one. so you may
guess the Opposition candidates won't
be too pleased with the reception 'they
get in the "All for Australia." It is a
great pity we could not get their views
placed before us, because fhen I am
sure they would poll far better. With
kindest regards and hoping you are in
the best of health.—Yours, etc..
PERCY DAVIDSON.
