GARDEN PARTY AT NORWOOD
The garden party to he held at Norwood
on Friday, 10th March, promises to be a
great success. Mr and Mrs narry Davies
have again kindly lent their beautiful
grounds to the Ladies' Art Association
for tho purpose of raising funds for the
prizes to be awarded at tho annual com
petitions in connection with the society
Ito be held in June. The prize list has I
1 this year been considerably extended, and !
threo valuable gold medals and money
prizes amounting to nearly *£so have been i
allotted. The prize list is very exten- j
sive and oopies can be obtained from the I
president Mrs 11. Gntmann, and from ]
members of committee. The arrange |
ments are almost complete, but any lady
wishing to assist is requested to send her
name in to the president as soon ns pos
sible. All sorts of amusements arc pro
vided for. The shooting gallery is in
tho capable hands of Mrs Dowling and
Mrs B. K. Williams, and several ladies
connected with the rifle club have pro
mised to assist. A clever palmist is
giving her services. A first class concert
will be given in the ball-room, Mrs C.
Salter having charge of the programme;
and a band will play during the afternoon
and evening in the grounds. Mrs F. J. Mar
tell has kndly undertaken to look after
Aunt Sa!h\ The cake stall is under the
able management of Mrs J. B. Milling
ton and a bevy of young ladies. The
sweet stall will be under the direct
supervision 'of Mrs J. Glasson and
Mrs H. Sewell. The ladies of
the novelty stall meet every Monday
at Mrs (Dr) Steel's, Lyons street south,
and some exquisite and artistic needle
work is being done. Any lady member
wishing to assist airs Steele will be wol- 1
come on Mondays at the sewing meet-.
