A DISLOCATED HEP. . ?
. An accident, which apparently Wat
caused by the iJoughtlesKness of .some un
known person, befell Han Hansen; a driver,
aged 18 years, and employed by Mr. It. O.
Evans, of Port Adelaide, on Friday morn
ing. An extra sliding' door, weighing about
11 cwt., was being fixed - to Mr. Evans"
stores in Leadenlmil-street, but not having
been properly adjusted the carpenter on
the previous evening inserted a small piece
of wood to keep: it secpre until the next ,
day. Jlurfng the night, however, someone i -
removed the piece of timber. On the fol
lowing morning Hansen, being . .unaware'
that tlje piece of wood had been removed,
attempted to slide the door open, with!
the result that it toppled over and.
knocked him to the gronn<L_ He sustained .
a. dislocation of the left hip. The door,
it is stated, was quite secure, until the
wood, was removed. The unfortunate youth
was taken to the local Casualty . Hospital
and attended to by Dr. Gething. Han
sen, it.is expected, will be able*"fb return
to his employment in about a week.
