RIDICULOUS!
.. Trades Hall• on National
Party.
The execntive reported to the Labour
Party at the monthly meeting on Thursday
night:—"During the week it was
stated that a National Labour Party was
likely to be formed with Hughes as leader,
that certain Federal Labour men were
likely to join in, and that no extremists
would be admitted. The secretary, on
being interviewed, said the suggestions
were rediculous. The executive is of the g
opinion that any attempt to form another t
section of the party would meet with the s
same result as when ex-Represenative
Catts tried to form what he termed the p
Majority Labour Party in New South a
Wales but found it difficult to get any
candidates, let alone members, and the
majority of his fefa candidates polled sc f
few votes that they lost their deposits.
The result of the recent Federal election
in this State prayed that Labour® has
practically regained the confidence of the
people. The Nationalist Party of this
State is now reduced to one representative
in the Senate, and one in th House of
Assembly, and both of these were elected
with Jhe support of the Liberal Union."
