CHRIST CHURCH YOUNG MEN’S
CLUB.
The annual meeting of the above club was
held on Monday night; Vice-president the
Rev. J. W. Griffiths in the chair. There
was an excellent attendance of members.
The secretary’s annual report was read and
received. This showed that steady progress
had been made during the past year, and
that the present position of the club was
very satisfactory. The balance sheet sub
mitted by the treasurer indicated that the
finances were sound. The election of officers
for the •ensuing year was then proceeded
with, the result being as follows—President,
Dean Stretch; vice-presidents, Rev. J. W.
Griffiith», D- - Hardy, and Mr Verey; secre
tary. Mr F. Gray; assistant-secretary, MrH.
Wicking; treasurer, Mr C. S. Parry;
librarian, Mr A. R. Bain; committee,
Messrs Bailey, Bloore, Carbines, Everall,
Hamilton, and Sugdnn; auditors, Messrs
Sayle and Mnrcoin. Votes of thanks to the
retiring officers were passed and suitably
acknowledged. The rules of the club were
altered and revised in order to meet the re
quirements of the society. It was decided
to join the Ballarat Literary Societies’
Federation. Complete arrangements were
made for the annual conversazione, which
takeß place on Friday evening, to which the
friends of the club are invited. A syllabus
for the next quarter having been prepared,
the meeting, which was a very enthusiastic
one, closed in the usual way.
